Travel

The travel industry thinks about travel based on how much interaction and involvement there is in your vacation. It can range fro om none at all (you have an itinerary and tickets and off you go) to a lot of interaction (an all-inclusive that provides everything you need). It depends on how much independence you want in your travels. Sometimes it’s nice to set sail on a cruise and leave decision-making behind. Other times, you may be on a personal pilgrimage to visit all the film sites of Jane Austen films. Nerds Tour supports every type of travel you can imagine.

Flexible Independent Travel (FIT)

FIT refers to travelers who have decision-making power over each element of the trip. Each destination and experience is decided by the traveler. If you were to book this on your own, it would mean hours, if not days, of researching, planning, booking, and then guiding all the steps of the trip.

Using a travel advisor means that you can still have all the independence in both dreaming and decision-making, but instead of spending all of your free time planning, I will handle the details and present you with a single approved itinerary that fits on your phone and includes all confirmations, instructions, and directions, as well as a packing list and a destination guide. In addition, I participate in a large group of travel advisors, which gives me leverage to get the best deals and prices out there, including the secret and off-the-beaten tracks places, as well.

Escorted Tours

Group tours are a great way to visit a place for the first time because they include all the top sites and experiences. There are a wide range of themed and unthemed tours already planned and tested. They make it easy for you to just jump on a bus (or train or plane or ship) and be transported to your next location. There’s nothing to worry about when you hand things over to an experienced and well-reviewed tour operator. I have expertise in many of the top providers who offer inspiring tours that take the guesswork out of travel planning.

They can take you to anywhere on the earth in any way that you’d like to travel - adventure, cultural, relaxation, exploration, themed - whether in the bushland of Australia or the jungles of South America, the wine country in France or gardens in England. Group tours let you take advantage of group discounts without having to form your own group. They are often less expensive than FIT, but, also, come at every level from budget through mid-range to luxury. In the case of group tours, the smaller the group, generally speaking, the higher the cost.

All-Inclusive

All-Inclusive means exactly what it says. When you pay for a vacation with an all-inclusive, it includes everything you need from lodging to meals to activities. An all-inclusive could be a resort in a tropical place or a cruise or a health retreat; what they all share is the fewest number of decisions to make on a daily basis.

However, there is nothing better than a cruise or a resort to let all your cares disappear. The luxury of not having to make any decisions aside from where you’ll set down your beach towel that day makes the cost worth it. Nerds should know that cruises are a great way to explore the world while still relaxing. As my late father used to say, a cruise is like a hotel that moves. When not making a decision is the whole point, then an all-inclusive is a great choice.

There are all-inclusive resorts and cruises all over the world. No matter where your interests lie, there will be a cruise or resort nearby. Click through to see inspiration and suggestions for your next all-inclusive vacation.

Group Travel

With group travel, you come to me with your group already formed. With 15 people, I can create any kind of trip you’d like and you’ll get all the group discounts, personalized attention, and extra amenities. Group travel is a great way to bring together your family, friends, or nerd group to create a trip that brings you all together for any of the travel types above.

We can create a custom trip that includes all the places that you want to see and only includes your group. Or, be part of a larger group and utilize their discounts. Take your extended family on a cruise and watch the kids get to know their cousins. I will support your group every step of the way, including traveling with you to provide on-site support, if you’d like and our schedules align. With a tour manager on site, you’ll not have to worry about any aspect of your trip.
